Showtec Film Gear Acquires Camwerkz Pte Ltd Equipment Rental Business

SINGAPORE, 1 DECEMBER 2024 – Camwerkz Singapore announced that Showtec Group has acquired its equipment rental business, effective today.

“We are excited to scale up our rental business with Showtec Film Gear”, said Dan Lim, founder of Camwerkz Singapore, “By aligning with Showtec Film Gear, we have the unique opportunity to amplify services and enhance our competitive edge, paving the way for unparalleled growth in the film equipment rental market.”

With the acquisition, equipment rentals will continue under the Showtec Film Gear brand. Dan will remain within the new company as the Head of Operations.

Ben Ang, Director of Showtec Film Gear, was enthusiastic about the acquisition, saying, “We’re super excited to be acquiring Camwerkz and relaunching it as Showtec Film Gear, which will be a part of the Showtec Group.”

Ben added, “With the addition of a film equipment branch, we feel that Showtec will able to elevate the level of film production support in Singapore, by providing a full end to end service for all production needs.”

Camwerkz Singapore will continue to provide its lens servicing and repair services under the Camwerkz brand. The company will continue to remain at its premises in Commonwealth until February 2025, and will announce more details of the change of business address early next year.
